Dereck Chisora v David Price Boxing Betting Tips

Dereck Chisora and David Price meet in a heavyweight showdown at the O2 Arena as part of the undercard to the World Boxing Super Series Final between Taylor and Prograis. Chisora was originally due to face former World Champion Joseph Parker, but the Kiwi fighter pulled out, citing a spider bite as the reason. ‘Del Boy’ was unhappy that the original fight was scheduled to the undercard of another, especially given Parker is a former World Champion. Now that Price has stepped in as Parker’s replacement and made this bout an all British affair, it is probably more justified. Defeat for either fighter would probably end their heavyweight career at the top level, meaning there's a lot on the line in London, even if there are no belts on offer. 21.co.uk’s tipster is here with his latest blog, giving you his take on the boxing betting action.
Here are our boxing betting tips for the Chisora v Price fight.
Dereck Chisora v David Price Boxing Betting Preview
We can’t see past a Chisora victory at the O2 and, as it’s available at online betting odds of 1/4, the markets tend to agree. Chisora may have nine losses on his record, but he has fought basically all the heavyweight division has to offer. He has only failed to make the bell in three of those losses - against Haye, Fury and Whyte. They can all be considered world level fighters, with Haye and Fury both former World Champions. He also went the distance against Vitali Klitschko which is a feat in itself - one of only four men to do so.
Price, on the other hand, has failed to live up to the hype he received early in his career. He has six losses, all by knockout, so it is perhaps surprising that he is still competing. A defeat here would probably leave him nowhere to go. We expect Chisora to have too much for the Liverpudlian, and you could go a step further and back him to win by KO at boxing betting odds of 1/2, if you think the fight will go like we do.
Over/Under Number of Rounds
David Price has been knocked out in under 6.5 rounds in five of his losses, and we can see something similar unfolding here. Pricey seems to struggle if he gets caught by any heavy blow, with a swift exit from the contest usually following for the former British Champion. Chisora has a decent knockout percentage, with 22 of his 31 wins coming by this method. In addition, eight of his last ten victories have come inside 6.5 rounds. Putting this together leads us to think under 6.5 rounds may be worth a look - available at boxing odds of 10/11.
Long Shot of the Bout
Part of what makes 21.co.uk the best online gambling site is the fact we like a long shot, so we’ve picked one out for this fight. The round betting market gives you the option to bet on either fighter to win in a certain round, offering long odds on any of them coming to fruition. We’ve gone for Chisora to land the final blow in Round 5, the same round in which Price lost to Tony Thompson for the second time and Alexander Povetkin. You can get this boxing bet at odds of 9/1.
