League of Legends LEC Summer Split Betting Preview

Updated 20th August

After what can only be described as an eventful Spring Split where two of the top teams struggled through playoffs, Mad Lions showed their class to see off Rogue to take the playoffs crown in spring. Naturally, it was expected that G2 eSports, given their roster change, would dominate proceedings. However, with more teams showing they have what it takes to beat the former European Champions, it makes for some exciting games as we head into the 2021 Summer Split and preparation for the World Championships.

With some explosive games expected to start the split, we've got all the latest eSports Betting Odds, so you'll never miss a match between the top European teams or across the rest of the world.

Here at 21.co.uk, not only do we have all of the latest eSports betting odds, we also have all the latest horse racing betting odds and the odds for Euro 2021. So whatever sport you prefer, we've got you covered.

What to expect from the LEC Summer Split

Normally the midseason break in the LEC doesn't throw up many surprises especially given as the focus is on preparation for the next part of the season or heading to MSI if you've managed to win the playoff final. Securing a place at the World Championships is usually the goal for most teams in the summer, and there will be four spaces on offer for teams to qualify.

However, we've seen some quite significant roster changes within the break that we think are worth mentioning before the first games start on the 11th June.

First off, Fnatic has undergone some huge roster changes with their top laner Bwipo moving to the jungle, replacing Selfmade and adding a new player Adam to fill the vacated gap. Other teams who have lost key impact players include Astralis losing their midlaner Nukeduck to EU rivals Excel, and Schalke, whose midlaner Abbedagge has taken up a position in the LCS for North American side 100 Thieves.

LEC Title Contenders

Mad Lions After a successful showing at the Mid Season Invitational (MSI), Mad Lions will be heading back to Berlin as one of the teams to watch in the Summer Split. Eliminated at the semi-final stage of MSI, they look like a force to be reckoned with and currently sit as one of the favourites to win the Summer Split Playoffs.

G2 Esports Possibly the Kings of Europe when it comes to League of Legends in recent years, it's hard to look past G2 when it comes to the potential winners of the Summer Split. We suspect their roster of Caps, Rekkles, Wonder, Mikyx and Jankos will know they need to step up, but given the rise of new teams in the league, time will tell if they'll be able to handle the pressure.

Fnatic Alongside G2, it was a very different Spring Split for Fnatic, who failed to impact the playoffs after finishing fifth in the table. However, they've got a new look roster who'll be keen to secure a spot at Worlds and get their season back on track.

Rogue One of the teams who've surprised us over the last few splits are Rogue. Stepping up to the plate, they've managed to see off the likes of G2 and Fnatic within league games, but they couldn't quite defeat Mad Lions to take their first-ever LEC title. This time around, they'll be hoping for much of the same, as well as a place at Worlds.

The Best of the Rest When it comes to the rest of the LEC, Schalke has to be the surprise package of Spring. Knocking Fnatic out of the top four and decimating their playoff hopes, they've now undergone some roster changes to be more of a challenge in Summer. We're also not ruling out SK Gaming or Excel to pull out some surprise wins, so watch this space.

LEC Summer Playoffs Week 2

We're heading into the second weekend of the LEC Summer Split Playoffs. Following last weekend's results, G2 will not be following their counterparts into the final stages and could miss out on a place at the World Championships. Four teams have kept their hopes alive of making it through to the final, and with one either Mad Lions or Rogue being eliminated, there is certainly all to play for.

Week One Recap

Although Rogue defeated Misfits 3-2, neither team will be eliminated from the competition at this point due to the fact Rogue were the top-seeded team. Elsewhere, Mad Lions easily dispatched G2, defeating them 3-1 overall and coming back from an opening game defeat. The final game in the losers bracket saw Fnatic take on Vitality. In a match that took all five games to decide the victor, it was 2-2 coming into the final game, but Fnatic triumphed, taking nine towers, four dragons and a baron in the process.

LEC Week 2 LOL Betting Preview

This weekend, there are only two games, with Rogue taking on Mad Lions and Fnatic facing off against Misfits. A slip up from either team will mean their chances of the World Championship are gone, so there is all to play for.

LEC Summer Split Recap

The season didn't start exactly as many teams had hoped, and it took until the final weeks for many of them to cement their places in the playoffs, where they could secure their place at the World Championships. Given how the season has gone so far, chances are these final games won't go as many predict.

LEC Summer Playoffs Week One

There are three games that LEC fans look forward to this weekend, and all of them are Best of 5 series' which means even more games. The first is between Rogue and Misfits, who've enjoyed strong seasons and a battle for a place at the top of the table. In this game, we're going with Rogue to continue their rich vein of form and secure a place in the next round. Our second game sees Mad Lions take on G2, and with the latter showing a resurgence of form, we're going with G2 in this game. The weekend's final game is the battle of the losers bracket where Fnatic will take on Vitality. Despite their losses to Misfits and Rogue, we're going with Fnatic to take a win here with the score of 3-1.

LEC Week Eight Betting Preview

We're in the final week of the LOL esports LEC Summer Split, and it looks as though it's going to come down to the wire as to who will qualify for the playoffs in the top spot. Rogue now top the table, with Fnatic, Mad Lions and Misfits all sitting on 30 points in second, third and fourth, respectively. With all eyes firmly on the prize, it will come down to which team has the nerve in the concluding three games to secure a place in the latter stages of the playoffs and who will miss out. As we take a look at a packed weekend of fixtures, our tipster is picking out their top betting tips across the League of Legends betting markets to help you make an informed decision.

LEC Week Seven Recap

Fnatic plummeted to fourth in the table, leaving the opportunity for Mad Lions and Misfits to close the gap and giving Rogue the chance to move to three points clear at the top of the table. Two wins from G2 also saw them secure vital points. However, could it be too late for G2 to close the gap on the top four teams?

League of Legends Betting Tips Week Eight

In the final week of the regular season, Fnatic, Misfit and Mad Lions will be hoping for Rogue defeats to close the gap and hope they relinquish first place from their grasp. Lower placed teams will need to pull a performance out of the bag for that to happen, but with Origen, Excel and Vitality all still fighting for that coveted sixth spot and the chance to qualify for the playoffs, anything could happen.

LEC Week Seven Preview

The playoffs are getting ever closer as we approach the final few weeks of the LOL esports LEC summer split. Fnatic and Rogue stand as equals at the top of the table, whereas Mad Lions and G2 sit firmly in the mid-table spots and will need a serious resurgence to knock the top teams off their podium. As we look ahead to this week's fixtures, our tipster has browsed the League of Legends betting markets to pick out the top esports betting tips.

LEC Week 6 Recap

What looked to be a stonewall victory for Mad Lions actually turned into a win for the bottom of the table SK Gaming on day one. But after that shock result, normal service resumed as Fnatic (defeated G2), Rogue and Misfits all got back to winning ways.

League of Legends Betting Tips Week 7

As we look ahead to week 7, the game of the weekend is between Fnatic and Rogue, who will be hoping to get an edge on their opponent. Bet on the LEC Summer Split

LEC Week Six Preview

As we move into the closing few weeks of the LEC Summer Split it’s starting to get very tight at the top of the table. A place in the LOL World Championship is up for grabs and our tipster has taken a look at the eSports betting markets to find out the best picks for this weekend’s fixtures.

There are two days of games for fans this weekend with the biggest clash between G2 and Fnatic on Sunday evening. Fnatic now top the table alongside Rogue and with G2 wallowing outside the playoff spots, it's expected they’ll pick up a win here. As well as that clash, there is also the chance for Mad Lions and Misfits to extend the gap over the teams lower in the table as they take on Excel and Schalke respectively.

Day One Betting Tips

Misfits vs Excel Misfits 7/20
Schalke 04 vs Rogue Rogue 1/5
SK Gaming vs Mad Lions Mad Lions 11/50
Fnatic vs Origen Fnatic 3/10
Vitality vs G2 G2 4/9

Day Two Betting Tips

Teams Our Prediction Odds

G2 vs Fnatic Fnatic Evens

LEC Week Five Preview

We’re now officially at the halfway point of the LEC Summer Split, and it’s starting to get very tight at the top of the table. Both Rogue and Fnatic have bounced back from their slow starts to the Summer Split and now sit in first and third, respectively. But the surprise package of the Split are Misfits, who are nestled in second spot.

As we look ahead to this week, it could all change in the top spot as Rogue take on Misfits in what could be the game of the week. Neither team will want to give an inch in this game, so we expect a strong draft from both teams and a game that could go past 40 minutes. The other game we’ll also be keeping a close eye on is the clash between Rogue and G2, as the latter will be hoping to get their season back on track.

Day One Betting Predictions

Teams Our Prediction Odds
SK Gaming vs Schalke Schalke 11/20
Mad Lions vs Excel Mad Lions 1/4
Vitality vs Fnatic Fnatic 11/20

G2 vs Origen G2 3/10

Day Two Betting Predictions

LEC Week Four Preview

We’re almost halfway through the LEC Summer Split, and it’s safe to say that many of the results haven’t gone the way we’d thought. Currently, Misfits top the table just one game ahead of Fnatic and Rogue, both of whom have undergone a resurgence in the last two weeks, leaving G2, Mad Lions and Vitality all sitting in fourth place with a record of 4W-3L.

This week, it looks as though it can only get better for the teams at the top as they face off against bottom-placed SK Gaming and Schalke, who are yet to find any winning form. But the game of the week has to be Misfits facing off against G2, with the latter hoping they can bounce back from a Fnatic defeat last weekend.

Day One Betting Predictions

Teams Our Prediction Odds
Vitality vs Astralis Vitality 3/10
SK Gaming vs Rogue Rogue 2/13
Misfits vs Mad Lions Misfits Evens
Schalke 04 vs Fnatic Fnatic 33/100
G2 vs Excel G2 1/6

Day Two Betting Predictions

Teams Our Prediction Odds
Vitality vs Excel Vitality 27/100
Schalke 04 vs Astralis Astralis 6/5
SK Gaming vs Fnatic Fnatic 1/4
Misfits vs G2 G2 4/5
Rogue vs Mad Lions Rogue 11/20

LEC Summer Split Week 3

It’s time for a change at the top of the table as we head into week three of the LEC Summer Split. G2 have finally regained the top spot ahead of Misfits with a win over Rogue, and Fnatic got back to winning ways with two victories over Vitality and Excel. However, sadly for SK Gaming, their record is still 0-5 as they once again failed to pick up a win on Summoners Rift.

As we look ahead to this week’s fixtures, many of the teams looking for the spots at the top of the table will be hoping to pick up key results. Friday evening sees SK Gaming take to the rift against Mad Lions, and Rogue also takes on Schalke, and we think both games will favour the playoff hopefuls from the last split.

But the game of the weekend takes place on Saturday as G2 and Fnatic -the oldest rivalry in the LEC - clash for the first time this summer. As we expect both teams to go all out, it will be hard to call given the in-depth knowledge both teams will have of each other.

Day One Betting Predictions

Teams Our Prediction Odds
Misfits vs Excel Misfits 4/9
SK Gaming vs Mad Lions Mad Lions 1/6
Schalke 04 vs Rogue Rogue 7/20
Fnatic vs Astralis Fnatic 7/20
Team Vitality vs G2 G2 12/25

Day Two Betting Predictions

Teams Our Prediction Odds
SK Gaming vs Excel Excel 11/20
Schalke vs Misfits Misfits 8/13
Rogue vs Astralis Rogue 11/50
Team Vitality vs Mad Lions Mad Lions 4/9
G2 vs Fnatic G2 11/20

LEC Summer Split Week 2 Betting Preview

It’s all about Misfit as we head into week two of the LEC Summer Split. Currently topping the rankings with three wins from three, they’re certainly a name we didn’t expect to see ahead of G2 and Mad Lions in the standings.

As we look ahead to the fixtures of week two, one of the highlight games of the weekend is the battle between Rogue and G2. Both teams will expect a strong performance on Summoners Rift, with Rogue looking to bounce back from defeat by Fnatic. Elsewhere, Fnatic will be hoping to get their season back on track with a win over Vitality and former jungler Selfmade.
