Europa League Final Betting Tips

Manchester United and Shakhtar Donetsk are out! Which leaves Sevilla and Inter Milan to battle it out for the 2019/2020 Europa League trophy. As two of the most successful sides in Europa League history, it perhaps isn’t a surprise that these two sides have ended up as finalists, especially considering they’ve both been large favourites in regards to football betting since Inter Milan dropped down from the Champions League. Milan look to be the first Italian team to win the competition since Parma won the UEFA Cup back in the 90s when it was called the “UEFA Cup”. It perhaps wasn’t a surprise that Milan made the final as in six out of the last seven seasons a Champions League side has dropped down into the Europa League and made the final - out of seven teams (2012/13 Chelsea and Benfica both made the final after dropping down) three have won and four have lost. Will Milan make history or will Sevilla demonstrate their Europa League dominance by landing their fourth trophy in seven years and their sixth in total?

Sevilla Vs Inter Milan: Match Preview

Both of these sides come into this game knowing that they can make history on this night. Sevilla can become the first six time Europa League champions in history and Inter Milan can end Italy’s 21-year run without a champion. Remarkably, Sevilla have never lost a European final despite taking part in five finals in the last sixteen years. However, they have never faced a sterner test than Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan who were so close to dethroning Juventus as Serie A Champions and they were only eliminated from the Champions League due to being in a group with Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona. It is worth noting that Sevilla have had one of the toughest routes to the final and have had to beat Roma, Wolves and Manchester United behind closed doors and as I said when I predicted Sevilla to make the final ahead of Manchester United, underestimate them at your peril.

Sevilla Key Man

Sevilla goalkeeper Bono was the Man of the Match against Manchester United and although we’re expecting him to be very busy once again, it is not Bono who we think will be the Key Man for Sevilla. Their key man will be the central defensive midfielder - Fernando. Inter Milan’s passing game is tremendous which is partly why Christian Eriksen is only making the bench this season but if Sevilla are going to win, they need Fernando to intercept the passing lanes in midfield and quickly distribute the ball to Lucas Ocampos and Suso who can take advantage of Milan’s high wing-backs, if Fernando has a bad game - Sevilla will have to soak up tonnes more pressure and will lose. **Fact: Fernando made five tackles against Manchester United in the semi-final, more than the rest of Sevilla’s midfield and attackers combined.

Fernando to be carded: 2.5/1

Inter Milan Key Man

Lautaro Martinez is one of the finest players in football right now and could be tempted to stay at Inter Milan for a number of seasons due to the progress made under Antonio Conte. However, his strike partner has been a major factor in that progress, Romelu Lukaku has scored a goal every 58 minutes since dropping down to the Europa League, is tied for 2nd place in the top goalscorer ranking, despite playing 500 minutes less than first and has broken a UEFA Cup record held by English striker Alan Shearer. He has scored in 10 Europa League games in a row and if he makes it 11 on Friday night, there will likely be parties on the streets of Milan until Monday morning.

Romelu Lukaku to score: 2.45/1

Five Best Bets for Sevilla Vs Inter Milan

Over 2.5 Goals - 2.05/1

Sevilla have won this competition five times, four of those times there have been four or more goals. In the last five years, four or more games have had over 2.5 goals, this bet being higher than evens is something that I’m very surprised about - make the most of it.

Lautaro Martinez to give an assist - 5.5/1

The young striker has provided four assists this season which isn’t a fantastic amount. However, the link-up play between himself and Romelu Lukaku has been fantastic since Milan began playing behind closed doors at 5.5/1, this is worth a shot.

Nicolo Barella to be carded: 2.3/1

Barella has a remarkable record of 11 yellow cards in 23 appearances but that is simply the role that he plays for Inter Milan, he is all over the pitch and has the capabilities to make a game-saving tackle at one end and then produce a match-winning pass at the other. However, as Sevilla will look to counter Milan with pace, Barella will likely make one or two mistimed challenges.

Lucas Ocampos to score & be carded: 12/1

This is one that is quite unlikely to happen but out of anything 8/1+ it is the most likely. Ocampos has scored 14 goals this season and received 8 yellow cards. Four of those games have seen a crossover and what is evident is that the Argentine is an emotive player, we’re confident he’ll be carded but we also think he is likely to score.

Bet Builder: Fivefold - 11/1

Lukaku to score, Inter Milan to win, Over 4.5 cards, Over 2.5 goals and Both Teams to Score

We have decided to combine our four bets for a fivefold with the new BET BUILDER available on, the Europa League final is the first major game where the Bet Builder is available to players and we have decided to make the most of it with this fantastic bet with a payout of 11/1.
