Tottenham Hotspur Vs Manchester United
Tottenham Hotspur Vs Manchester United Match Preview
As long as Jose Mourinho is at Tottenham this match will always be 10x as interesting as it normally would be. Mourinho was never going to be judged by his performance in the latter parts of the season, but that may have changed now that every manager is on an even playing field. The break came at an unfortunate time for Manchester United who were unbeaten in ten games before the break, including wins against Chelsea and Manchester City. However, both these sides will be somewhat thankful for the break as it has allowed Harry Kane and Paul Pogba to return to fitness, giving both sides a boost in their European Qualification battle. It will be interesting to see how effectively Manchester United will be able implement their style on the game, as their fantastic pressing game was arguably what won them the reverse tie in December. However, as we saw in Arsenal Vs Manchester City, sustaining a pressing game for a full half is going to be extremely difficult.
Tottenham Hotspur Vs Manchester United Injury News
Tottenham have just two players missing out in this game, one is major while the other will not have Jose Mourinho too worried. The first is Dele Alli who is suspended and the second is Japhet Tanganga who wasn’t likely to start regardless.
Manchester United on the other hand have almost a full squad to choose from and their usual starting XI is fit with only Lee Grant, Diego Dalot and Phil Jones set to miss out through injury. We expect Paul Pogba to start given his rivalry with opposition boss - Jose Mourinho has likely seen him train extra hard in the build up to this one.
Tottenham Hotspur Vs Manchester United Prediction
If both these sides have their strongest XI’s match fit, it is difficult to see where this game will go. Expect Spurs to sit and break on the counter attack and Manchester United will have to break them down which in December may have been daunting but with Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in midfield, United should be too strong for Spurs here. We’re being optimistic here and predicting goals.
