5 Buzzer Beating Betting Tips

NBA Week Seven Betting Tips

We’re into the seventh week of the 2019/20 NBA season, and as ever’s resident tipster has all your betting tips. The Eastern Conference is proving to be incredibly tight, but despite the fact Milwaukee Bucks occupy pole position, it’s the chasing pack of Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, and Philadelphia 76ers that have caught our eye this week. In the Western Conference, LA Lakers travel to Denver Nuggets in order to exert their dominance at the top. So, without further ado, here are our 5 buzzer beating basketball betting tips.

Utah Jazz @ Philadelphia 76ers, Tuesday 3rd December, 00:00 GMT

Regular readers of our NBA Betting Tips will know that at, we backed Philadelphia 76ers to win the Championship in our NBA season preview, and their early season form indicates that they’ll definitely be in the discussion come the end of the campaign. This is largely down to their fantastic home form, having been victorious in all nine of their games at the Wells Fargo Center, so they’ll be confident of applying pressure onto Miami Heat and Boston Celtics with a win here.

Utah Jazz continue to do just enough to hang on to a playoff position in the Western Conference, although once again this is largely down to their home performances. Unfortunately for the Jazz, this game in Philadelphia represents their fifth consecutive outing on the road, and their 130-110 loss at the Raptors means they’re 1-3 down over that period ahead of this tricky tie. 76ers to win well in our opinion.

Orlando Magic @ Washington Wizards, Wednesday 4th December, 00:00 GMT

Orlando Magic are that kind of team that Washington Wizards will be looking at, hoping to emulate. With just Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets between them, the Wizards know that a couple of wins would put them firmly back in playoff contention. That will be easier said than done. With clashes against Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat, and LA Clippers on the horizon, the Wizards can’t afford to lose any further ground on the Magic.

Orlando Magic will certainly be looking nervously over their shoulders at the moment, but that could all change. Games against Phoenix Suns at Amway Center, before a trip to Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse to face a struggling Cavaliers side follow this contest, and some momentum from a win in Washington could see this end up being a very positive week for the Magic. We think they’ll get the win here and we're willing to back it in regards to betting.

Moneyline Full Time - Orlando Magic (23/20)

LA Lakers @ Denver Nuggets, Wednesday 4th December, 02:00 GMT

This is bound to be a hugely enthralling game in Colorado, as Denver Nuggets look to begin a lengthy process to knock the Lakers off their perch. They’ve played three games fewer, but will know that they can’t afford to lose to a side that have four more wins than they do. An overtime loss at Sacramento Kings over the weekend will have brought them down from their dizzying high of winning six games on the spin, but a return to the Pepsi Center - where they’re unbeaten in six - will have them chomping at the bit.

LA Lakers’ ten game winning run was ended at the Staples Center isn a shock 100-114 loss to Dallas Mavericks. It was their second defeat of the season at home, and they’ll surely be wary of a potential second away loss as well. Anthony Davis has said that the Lakers must right their wrongs to avoid successive defeats, but there was a hint of fear in his voice. The Nuggets won this same fixture just over a year ago by 32 points, and while we don’t think it will be a landslide this time, we have a good feeling about Denver.

Moneyline Full Time - Denver Nuggets (5/7)

Miami Heat @ Boston Celtics, Thursday 5th December, 00:30 GMT

At the time of writing, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat both have a 14-5 win/loss record, although this will change by the time they meet at TD Garden. The Celtics have had a relatively strong week, with three wins and a 5 point loss to Brooklyn Nets in their four fixtures, but it’s fair to say they didn’t come up against anyone of the Heat’s calibre. They boast a 7-0 home record though, so will be confident of delivering on their potential.

Miami Heat take on Toronto Raptors north of the border on Wednesday morning, in a crucial game that could see them move above their Eastern Conference rivals. Regardless of that result, they’ll also be looking not to allow the Celtics to leapfrog them, but that could prove a tough ask for a team that are only narrowly above a 50% record on the road, in spite of a 100% home record. For that reason, we can see Boston Celtics edging this matchup, although we’re backing the overall defense to be the real winner here.

Total Points - Under 212.5 (10/11)

Houston Rockets @ Toronto Raptors, Friday 6th December, 00:30 GMT

These two clashed twice in pre-season, with the home team victorious on each occasion, despite tightly-contested affairs. With that in mind, it’s also worth mentioning that Toronto Raptors currently boast a 9-0 home record, and if they can hold off Miami Heat on Wednesday morning, their confidence will be sky-high ahead of welcoming Houston Rockets to the Scotiabank Arena. Former Rocket Kyle Lowry should return from injury in time for this meeting.

The Rockets will likely be respectful as they come up against a side who have won their past seven games, although there haven’t been too many high-profile challenges in their way during that run. Houston will be quietly confident of mounting a challenge in Canada having seen off Miami Heat last week, which they followed up as they demolished Atlanta Hawks by 47 points in their last match, and if they can also pick up a positive result at San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday morning, they have a chance. We can see this being a low scorer though, as neither side wants to give anything away.

Total Points - Under 228.5 (21/20)
