NFL Gameweek 11 Predictions
Written 15th November 2019
We’re just 6 weeks away from the end of the 2019 NFL season, so games from this point on will definitely start to show telltale signs of how the playoffs may shape up in the run-up to the Superbowl. Teams are starting to fall off the win-streak wagon by being stripped of their ‘undefeated’ title, but will this show to be early implications of playoff knockouts or it is just a stumbling block? Our resident tipster makes their call with their week 11 picks.

Baltimore Ravens v Houston Texans
The Ravens currently stand as one of the most improved teams in the league since September, with their offense hitting one of their strongest runs and their defence on a path of steady improvement. Meanwhile, the Texans still remain shrouded in mystery. The best performance to leak out of their sub-par defence came in London in the absence of J.J Watt, whilst their offence is exceeding expectations with a good track record of pass protection. This game is both interesting and difficult to call due to the fact the teams hold 2 of the most impressive young quarterbacks in the league. However, Baltimore does hold a much better defence than Houston, so for the Texans to pull this win off, they’re almost banking on a flawless performance from Deshaun Watson.
New England Patriots v Philadelphia Eagles
We’re getting deja vu here at 21.co.uk as this is the first time that New England and Philadelphia have clashed since their showdown at Superbowl LII where the Patriots suffered a devastating 41-33 defeat at the hands of the Eagles. Both teams are coming back to the field fresh off a bye week so it will be interesting to see how they perform. It’s easy to assume that Bill Belichick will have taken full advantage of this and have his team prepared to an extreme - Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, has also mentioned in interviews that he still thinks about New England’s defeat at that fateful Superbowl (despite having won another since), so it’s not difficult for us to expect the Patriots to action their revenge against the Eagles this Sunday.
San Francisco 49ers v Arizona Cardinals
Week 10 saw San Francisco face their first defeat against Seattle on what could have possibly been the game of the season last Monday, striking them off the list of undefeated teams so far in the centenary season. Their Monday night game also meant they’ve had even less time to prepare themselves and with the division games creeping up, the 49ers need to make sure they don’t trip up against Arizona - but will their lack of prep time and the confidence knock they’ve suffered from their loss in Monday’s game prove to be a stumbling block? The Cardinals are a unique team who holds both an air raid offense and an extremely mobile quarterback in Kyler Murray, so it will be interesting to see how a shook 49ers will fair - the San Francisco defence has shown to be a dominant squad, especially with Nick Bosa emerging as a 2019 league star, so this will be a close game to call.
