Jacksonville Jaguars v Houston Texans
The NFL International Series continues in London this week with a clash between AFC South Rivals, Jacksonville and Houston, meeting at the neutral ground of Wembley Stadium on Sunday. The Jaguars are no stranger to the London ground, having played there every year since their 2013 debut, and a win for them would see both teams standing at the same record of 5-4. However, despite this being Houston’s first appearance across the pond, the Texans quarterback, Deshawn Watson, is arguably a star player in the making and is playing incredibly for his team as it stands. This, paired with the fact that although the Jags are seasoned in this ground they’re just 3-3 SU in those games, might push the Texans right to the front of the winners’ queue - but not without a struggle.
Minnesota Vikings v Kansas City Chiefs
This is a tough matchup to pick as it is completely dependant on whether Patrick Mahomes plays or not. However, with or without their star quarterback, the Chiefs, who have lost 3 games in a row after being expected to topple the Patriots from the top spot, are set to face big issues playing against the rushing attack of the Minnesota Vikings. Kansas City’s defense is bad, and they’re coming up against Minnesota’s Dalvin Cook, who has emerged through the ranks as one of the league's strongest running backs - additionally, the Vikings’ defense is currently standing as the NFL’s third-ranked scoring, even Patrick Mahomes would be in for a tough time. Ultimately, Kansas City presently is feeling no pressure from its divisional rivals, so there would be no use in rushing Mahomes back before he is ready to play.
New England Patriots v Baltimore Ravens
New England face-off against Baltimore in the final game of week 9, and it will be interesting to see what kind of interactions play out across the field. The Bill Belichick coached Patriots defense stands as the league's best, but they face a different kind of offense with Baltimore being lead by their potentially dangerous quarterback, Lamar Jackson. This game will arguably end with one of two outcomes; New England’s defense will easily contain what stands as the NFL’s top rushing offense and force Jackson into situations he’s not necessarily comfortable with on their way to a win, or Lamar Jackson will come out and snatch the win from the currently undefeated Patriots. However, it’s worth noting that Belichick’s teams have managed to score 21 consecutive wins against first or second-year QB’s for a reason.
