NFL Tips For Game Week 10
The NFL is back this Sunday for Game Week 11 and it features some huge matchups, including the formidable New Orleans Saints taking on the reigning Super Bowl Champions in the Philadelphia Eagles. 21.co.uk provides you with a preview of each Red Zone game and where the value lies within each match-up this Sunday.
New Orleans Saints v Philadelphia Eagles - 21:25 GMT
Arguably the biggest game on Sunday kicks off after all Red Zone games at 21:15 GMT, as the highly anticipated match-up between the dominant 8-1 Saints and a desperate Eagles side that are 4-5 after Week 10.
Indeed, it was an extremely disappointing 27-20 loss to the Cowboys that seen the reigning Super Bowl Champions drop to 3rd in the NFC East division, only above the 2-7 New York Giants.
It will be a monumental task for Doug Pederson’s desperate Eagles to fly against a strong wind that comes in the form of the New Orleans Saints, who have been a dominant force this season under Sean Payton and his man, Drew Brees. They have racked up 96 points in just their last 2 games, handing the Rams their first defeat of the season as well as putting up over 50 points against the Bengals in the process.
Saints -9.5 Spread - 1/1*
**However, the Saints have not performed well historically against the Super Bowl winners of the previous season, with Sean Payton 0-5 against defending Super Bowl Champions. The Steelers in ‘06, Colts in ‘07, Packers in ‘11, Broncos in ‘16 and Patriots last season have all seen the Saints and Payton fall to a loss, and it could be Deja Vu this Sunday against a struggling Eagles side who are desperate for a win.
Indeed, the last time these sides met in 2015 it was the Eagles that came out victorious with a 39-20 win, could the Eagles fly high this Sunday? We think there’s definitely a chance.**
Philadelphia Eagles to Win - 3/1*
Los Angeles Chargers v Denver Broncos - 21:05 GMT
The first game that kicks off after the 6pm games is a match-up between two of the best pass rush teams in the NFL; the Chargers and the Broncos. This looks set to be a game that will be won on defence, with offences on both teams struggling this season.
Both Case Keenum and Phillip Rivers will have to be on top form against defences that will be applying pressure from the start. Indeed, Phillip Rivers will have to keep his eyes on the Broncos defenders as well as his men, especially Von Miller, who is currently tied 3rd in the NFL for sacks this season.
However, we think it may be Case Keenum feeling the brunt of the pass rush in this game. While showing nothing but promise in the royal purple colours of the Vikings last season, it seems that Denver has taken a toll on the 2x C-USA QB.
Throwing 10 interceptions and fumbling 6 times already this season, Keenum may feel the pressure of the Chargers defence and throw some ill-advised passes that could lead to another interception or potentially Pick 6.
Chargers -7 Spread - 25/28*
Jacksonville Jaguars v Pittsburgh Steelers - 18:00 GMT
In what would have been a highly anticipated match-up at the start of the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers look set to comfortably take the victory against a struggling Jaguars side who are currently 3-6 on the season so far.
With Big Ben throwing for over 300 yards and 5 TD’s against a well-performing Panthers who were 6-2 before they played, Mike Tomlin is looking to grow the Steelers’ 5-game win streak against a Jaguars side who are seriously struggling to find form.
We think the Steelers are going to take this one, and possibly even by a landslide as they outclass the Jags in almost every way.
Steelers -9.5 Spread - 13/10*
Atlanta Falcons v Dallas Cowboys - 18:00 GMT
This matchup between Atlanta and Dallas sees two teams who are struggling for form pitted up against each other in a battle of who wants it more. With both teams belittled by their 4-5 records this season, this may be a game that NFL fans underestimate, as we think it could turn out to be the highest-scoring game this Sunday.
With both teams desperate for a win and the lack-luster defensive efforts on both ends of the field, we think there may be a lot of points put up this game, mostly by the Falcons.
Indeed, the Falcons come into this game with an offence headed-up by the 4x Pro Bowler Matt Ryan and the 2x All Pro Julio Jones, who currently leads the league in receiving yards, being the first player to rack up over 1,000 yards this season.
Coming off the back of a disappointing loss to the Browns, Dan Quinn and his Falcons will look to swoop on their seemingly helpless Cowboy prey.
Falcons -7.5 Spread - 7/5*
