Peter Wright Interview
Ahead of the 2018 Shanghai Darts Masters, 21.co.uk interviewed Peter Wright about his preparation for the tournament. Peter Wright comes into the tournament on the back of 2 semifinal appearances in the last 2 World Series tournaments, in Gelsenkirchen and Las Vegas. 'Snakebite' will be hoping to go one better at the Shanghai Masters, a tournament he has competed in since it's inception in 2015. After a disappointing exit in Las Vegas, Wright is hoping to go one better this weekend.
"To be honest, I felt like I was going to win it last week, but obviously if you don't hit your double you don't win the game." It was Rob Cross who knocked Wright out in Vegas, with the 2 potentially meeting again at the 21.co.uk Shanghai Darts Masters. "He's the world champions, so you can't make mistakes like that, but I feel really good this week."
Peter Wright was another player who was more than complimentary about the Shanghai crowd coming into the tournament. "They're brilliant, so respectful to every single player" Wright told us. "Keeping quiet in between throws and they clap whatever you score, as long as it's good scores!"
After a gruelling trip from Las Vegas straight to Shanghai, Snakebite is hoping that he has had enough time to recover since the last tournament. "I was on a plane for near enough 14 hours, I've slept pretty well so that's the most important thing. I've just had a little throw, with a couple of 180's, so I'm pretty happy."
