The House of Doom 2: The Crypt slot is played on five reels and three rows with 20 paylines. Released by Swedish studio, Play'n GO, the title is the second game from the studio to be dedicated to Swedish heavy metal rock band, Candlemass. Wins are formed when at least three or more matching symbols line up in a combination from left to right starting on the very first reel. Just like the band, there’s a dark, gothic feel to things which is offset only slightly by the heavy metal soundtrack, supplied of course by the band themselves. The game is set in a dark and dingy mausoleum and the reels are flanked by statues and pillars. Spirit Gate
The Spirit Gate can appear and open randomly on any base game spin. This can land on any position on the reels. If then a wild symbol lands in the Spirit Gate, it will expand to fill the entire reel and a respin will be awarded alongside one of three special modifiers. The first of these is the Queen of the Damned feature which triggers if it was a Queen of the Damned wild that landed in the Spirit Gate. Extra Spirit Gates are added for the respin, boosting your chances of catching further expanding wilds.
Next, we have the Fire Mistress feature which becomes activated if the Spirit Gate caught the Fire Mistress wild. This awards a random multiplier worth 2x, 3x, 5x or 10x, that is applied to any win you make on the respin. Finally, there is a Metal Priestess feature where the Metal Priestess wild will turn all of the Ritual Relic symbols into the Skull symbol which is the more valuable of the two.
If the scatter symbol hits on reels one, three and five on the same spin, the free spins round is triggered. Depending on which of the three zones you are playing in, this will determine which modifier you will receive during the free spins feature. If you manage to catch a wild in the Spirit Gate during the free spins, then that associated modifier will also be applied. Spirit Gates are in the bonus round, with at least one showing up on each free spin, allowing you to play with expanding wilds, random multipliers and high-value Skull symbols.
Landing three flaming crypt scatters during the free spins will launch the Crypt Spins feature. You will receive eight Crypt Spins. If you land a Spirit of Unity wild in the Spirit Gate, you’ll get a respin where all three Spirit Gate features are applied to your win.
