Premier League Betting Tips - Matchday 20
The FA Cup took centre-stage last weekend and three Premier League sides were dumped out of the competition. Liverpool, Arsenal and Fulham all have more important competitions on their minds; however, it perhaps comes as no surprise that they were losing their ties, especially as they were against Premier League opposition. Once again, the Premier League ties for the week begin on Tuesday and Friday is the only day of the week without Premier League football. There are four games on Tuesday, five on Wednesday and we end the gameweek with Tottenham Hotspur Vs Liverpool on Thursday. Find out all of the need to know information before you place a bet on the Premier League below.

Premier League Matchday 20 Fixtures
- Crystal Palace Vs West Ham United - Newcastle United Vs Leeds United - Southampton Vs Arsenal - West Brom Vs Man City - Burnley Vs Aston Villa - Chelsea Vs Wolves - Brighton Vs Fulham - Everton Vs Leicester - Man United Vs Sheffield United - Tottenham Hotspur Vs Liverpool
Positions: Crystal Palace - 13th (23 Points) | West Ham United - 7th (32 Points)
Form: Crystal Palace - LDWDL | West Ham United - DDWWW
Head To Head (Last 5) Crystal Palace - 2 Wins | Draw - 2 Draws | West Ham United - 1 Win |
Home & Away Form Crystal Palace (H) - 3/3/3 (12 Points) | West Ham United (A) - 4/2/3 (14 Points)
Betting Odds: Crystal Palace Win - 21/10 | Draw - 11/5 | West Ham United Win - 5/4 |
West Ham United make the short trip to Selhurst Park in good spirits after three wins in a row. In contrast, their opponents have won just once in their last eight games and only Fulham have scored fewer goals than Palace in that period. The issue for Palace is that they rarely look like scoring a goal and their defensive solidarity seems to have been shattered since the Liverpool game. West Ham’s winning run is partly down to Michail Antonio’s return, who has scored winning goals against Burnley and West Brom while changing the complexion of their game against Everton. There won’t be many goals here, but I’ll back an away win and clean sheet.
Positions: Newcastle United - 16th (19 Points) | Leeds United - 7th (29 Points)
Form: Newcastle United - DLLLL | Leeds United - LWWLL
Head To Head (Last 5)Newcastle United - 2 Wins | Draw - 1 Draw | Leeds United - 2 Wins |
Home & Away Form Newcastle United (H) - 3/2/4 (11 Points) | Leeds United (A) - 4/0/5 (12 Points)
Betting Odds: Newcastle United Win - 13/5 | Draw - 14/5 | Leeds United Win - 22/25 |
Leeds United face the Premier League’s out of form side in Newcastle United on Tuesday. Leeds - on the back of back-to-back losses - are heavy favourites for the game, but that comes as no surprise due to the woeful performances Newcastle put in every week. Leeds scored five last time around, although I wouldn’t back them to score five this time. As Newcastle’s attacking threat is identical to Steve Bruce’s statement to the written media this week, I can’t see anything but a Leeds win to nil.
Positions: Southampton - 10th (29 Points) | Arsenal - 11th (27 Points)
Form: Southampton - LDDWL | Arsenal - WWWDW
Head To Head (Last 5) Southampton - 1 Win | Draw - 2 Draws | Arsenal - 2 Wins |
Home & Away Form Southampton (H) - 5/1/3 (16 Points) | Arsenal (A) - 4/1/4 (13 Points)
Betting Odds: Southampton Win - 41/20 | Draw - 23/10 | Arsenal Win - 5/4 |
These two sides faced off at the weekend, with Southampton progressing through to the next round of the cup. That being said, the Arsenal side on that night will be substantially different to what we see on Tuesday, while Southampton’s will be quite similar. I don’t think either side will win, but at the same time, neither side will be particularly content with drawing games. I think they’ll even each other out here.
Positions: West Brom - 18th (13 Points) | Man City - 1st (37 Points)
Form: West Brom - DLLWL | Man City - WWWWW
Head To Head (Last 5) West Brom - 0 Wins | Draw - 1 Draw | Man City - 4 Wins |
Home & Away Form West Brom (H) - 1/2/6 (5 Points) | Man City (A) - 7 4/3/1 (23 Points)
Betting Odds: West Brom Win - 13/1 | Draw - 6/1 | Man City Win - 2/13 |
West Brom have picked up some big results since Sam Allardyce took over, but you do have to question whether he has done a better job than Slaven Bilic, whose last game in charge of the Baggies was a draw against this week’s opponents. City come into this game on the back of a good run of form, but they are struggling to score at the rate they used to, which makes this bet very good for the odds provided.
Positions: Burnley - 15th (19 Points) | Aston Villa - 8th (29 Points) Form: Burnley - LWLLW | Aston Villa - WDLLW Head To Head (Last 5) Burnley - 1 Win | Draw - 3 Draws | Aston Villa - 1 Wins | Home & Away Form Burnley (H) - 3/1/4 10 Points) | Aston Villa (A) - 5/1/3 (16 Points) Betting Odds: Burnley Win - 27/10 | Draw - 49/20 | Aston Villa Win - 23/25 |
Aston Villa come into this game after their first win of 2021. However, they barely broke a sweat as they confidently dispatched Newcastle United. We believe that this will be the beginning of a good run for Dean Smith’s side, with this game being another victory. Because of Burnley’s dreadful attacking record, we’re going to back a third to win to nil bet.
Positions: Chelsea- 9th (29 Points) | Wolves - 14th (22 Points)
Form: Chelsea - LDLWL | Wolves - DLDLL
Head To Head (Last 5) Chelsea - 2 Wins | Draw - 1 Draw | Wolves - 2 Win |
Home & Away Form Chelsea (H) - 4/3/2 (15 Points) | Wolves (A) - 3/1/5 (8 Points)
Betting Odds: Chelsea Win - 11/20 | Draw - 16/5 | Wolves Win - 21/5 |
A few weeks ago, Frank Lampard was a whopping 8/1 to be the next manager sacked and on Monday morning his fate was sealed. Personally, I think it’s the right decision and will benefit Lampard massively in the long-run. He now has the experience of a Premier League side and whether Thomas Tuchel will actually take charge for this game or not, we don’t yet know. However, I’m not actually confident in a particular bet. I’ll back a card bet here.
Positions: Brighton - 17th (17 Points) | Fulham - 18th (12 Points)
Form: Brighton - DLDLW | Fulham - DDDLL
Head To Head (Last 5) Brighton - 1 Wins | Draw - 2 Draws | Fulham - 2 Wins |
Home & Away Form Brighton (H) - 0/5/4 (5 Points) | Fulham (A) - 1/3/4 (6 Points)
Betting Odds: Brighton Win - Evens | Draw - 47/20 | Fulham Win - 5/2 |
Many will argue that this fixture is the biggest of the mid-week set. If Fulham win this game, the relegation battle will be blown wide open. If they lose, the gap between Fulham and 17th rises to seven points. By no means would they be relegated, but it’s a very large gap when you’re without a win for as long as Fulham have been. I’ll back the Fulham special.
Positions: Everton - 6th (17 Points) | Leicester - 3rd (12 Points)
Form: Everton - WWWLW | Leicester - DDWWW
Head To Head (Last 5) Everton - 2 Wins | Draw - 1 Draw | Leicester - 2 Wins |
Home & Away Form Everton (H) - 4/1/3 (13 Points) | Leicester (A) - 7/1/1 (22 Points)
Betting Odds: Everton Win - 17/10 | Draw - 47/20 | Leicester Win - 5/2 |
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin back and firing for Everton, they will look to pursue a European position this season. One side in their way is going to be Leicester City, who are firmly in the title race this season. However, with Jamie Vardy out, Everton will fancy their chances. On the other hand, I fancy my chances at another bet.
Positions:Man United - 1st (40 Points) | Sheffield United - 20th (5 Points)
Form: Man United - WWWDW | Sheffield United - LLLWL
Head To Head (Last 5) Man United - 4 Wins | Draw - 1 Draw | Sheffield United - 0 Win |
Home & Away Form Man United (H) - 4/2/3 (14 Points) | Sheffield United (A) - 0/1/8 (1 Point)
Betting Odds: Man United Win - 2/9 | Draw - 5/1 | Sheffield United Win - 10/1 |
As Sheffield United have picked up just one point on the road this season, it’s difficult to see this game being anything but a home win. However, as Man United to win is at odds that you would probably expect, I’ll go for an individual scorer that is under evens. If you’re confident in a shock result, we recommend it at those odds, but if you’re not confident then go for the safest bet, which is:
Positions:Tottenham - 5th (33 Points) | Liverpool - 4th (34 Points)
Form: Tottenham - LDWDW | Liverpool - DDLDL
Head To Head (Last 5) Tottenham - 0 Wins | Draw - 0 Draws | Liverpool - 5 Wis |
Home & Away Form Tottenham (H) - 4/3/2 (15 Points) | Liverpool (A) - 2/5/2 (11 Points)
Betting Odds: Tottenham Win - 21/10 | Draw - 49/20 | Liverpool Win - 23/20 |
For me, this is the hardest game of the week to predict. Liverpool are in horrible form, but Jurgen Klopp usually does incredibly well against Tottenham. Jose Mourinho will know that his side’s best chance of beating Liverpool is this week, and I can’t see either side keeping a clean sheet despite Liverpool’s poor form in front of goal. I’m not going to back a goal-scoring bonanza, but I feel I know what the score will be here.
